The Earth Friendly Lolita Project

I remember watching this video, few years back. And I clearly remember, how people have reacted upon seeing it. During that time it was on Youtube’s home page and it catches viewer’s attention so quickly and it gained a lot of views in minutes. What I don’t understand was, why are there so many people who just can’t simply let it be? Some didn’t like the video and clicked “dislike” button (which I find polite in a rude way, thank you!) and others even took the time to leave harsh comments and mockery! WTF?! I’m sorry but really, WTF?! Man! Oh, yeah, it didn’t save the Earth’s problems BUT don’t you find it delightful when someone tries to make something out of almost nothing? Don’t you find it awesome when you see people who are taking part on worthwhile activities like this? Okay, given the fact that it’s really not your cup of tea - SO WHAT? I don’t see how a little tutorial-on-how-to-make-a-cuff-style-bracelet-out-of-cardboard-cup-holder-video could hurt, insult and annoy you as a person? UGH!  At that point, I realized that no one can ever please anyone. It doesn’t always work as smoothly as the way you have pictured it. 

Now, maybe you are asking, what’s my point? 

Right now, EFL Project is facing (almost) the same situation. Some find this project absurd and ridiculous. While others simply wished us well. But guess what? Both made us (Jaja and I) feel more obliged to continue. And we are happy about the way these readers have reacted. Thank you, people! If there is something that I have learned in my three decades of existence, that is to appreciate not only the good things life has to offer but also the worst ones. Because that teaches you a lesson and makes you stronger.
